Boneyard Brew-Off Volunteer Information

Please come judge or steward! Judging will commence at 9:00am on Saturday, January 14th, with an expected ending time of about 4:30pm. Sign-in starts at 8:30am; bagels, coffee, and juice will be available; lunch will be served between the morning and afternoon flights.

All judges and stewards must sign a standard waiver form, and will be awarded judge points according to current Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) policy.

As a courtesy to attending judges you can hand-deliver entries, and only your own entries, as long as the paperwork has been filed by the January 9th entry deadline. Please have your entries there by 8:30am sharp, or bring them early in the evening to the Friday event.

Judging/Stewarding Form

If you are able to assist with the competition, please fill out the volunteer form so that we can have an accurate headcount for lunch (and the after competition feast).

Friday Judge Social

There will be a Judge Social on Friday evening, Janaray 13th, featuring the zymurgical efforts of local brewers. Please feel free to come down early; the Friday night judge social goes from 7pm to 10pm. 

The Friday Judge Social will be held at Chase "Beaker" Bolt's house: 907 E. Illinois Street, Urbana, IL, 61802.

Saturday After Competition Cookout

After the competition, a cookout will be held to thank all of our wonderful volunteers and it presents a wonderful opportunity to socialize. The cookout will start at about 5:30pm or whenever we get over there after judging. The cookout will take place at Lyle Amacher's house: 403 W. Tomaras, Savoy, IL, 61874.

Lodging

A limited number of beds for out of town volunteers are available. Please contact the competition organizer for more information. Alternatively, the Best Western of Savoy, IL is located within walking distance of the Saturday cookout.

Location & Directions

The 18th Annual Boneyard Brewoff is being held at The Corkscrew; 203 N. Vine. Urbana, IL. Please leave enough spaces in the corkscrew parking lot so patron have enought room to park.
