Green beer with spirulina?

I'm thinking of brewing a small batch of novelty green beer for a St. Paddy's get together. I have a decent amount of spirulina on hand (because I'm an Urbana-residing, chicken-raising, kombucha-sucking hippy type).

Has anyone had any experience using it as a coloring agent? Any other good tips for making green beer?

Update (because there was so much interest in this topic!): turns out my housemate threw out the spirulina. She said it tasted gross. I guess we'll never know.
